Anyway, getting back on subject...another thing I'm sick of, absolutely sick of, is people hating on other peoples' pairings that involve a human being and an alien or mutant species, claiming that it's "gross" and "beastiality"--mostly the beastiality claim, or, as so many people like to call it, "dog-fucking"--above all else. I find this not only annoying, but also slightly racist.

Think about it, first off--ever since the entertainment business started, interspecies pairings have existed, human/alien above all else. I mean, come on. Superman, for one, is an alien being from the planet Krypton, and he is in love with (and has, in past "imaginary stories", married and had children with) Lois Lane, who is a human being. Not to mention there have been countless other alien/human pairings in the superhero genre--Green Lantern/Hawkgirl, Robin/Starfire, Beast Boy/Raven. Hawkgirl is an alien being with anthropomorphic avian qualities. Starfire is an alien being with a couple of monstrous qualities that are definitely not human. And Beast Boy and Raven (who actually wound up as a couple in the old comic books) consists of an ethereal half-human/half-demon and a mutant being who can actually change into animals. And let's not forget, of course, Brian Griffin from Family Guy who has dated other human girls (and married one in one episode) and he's an actual damn dog. Not to mention countless pairings in the sci-fi and action genre that consist of a human being and an alien or mutant...

The same goes for humans and ethereal creatures, as well. Merlin was the child of a human being and a demonite. Bram Stoker's Dracula consisted of a romance between a human and a vampire. In the movie "Beetlejuice", a dead being attempts to marry another, living one to escape purgatory. Other series involve a human and a werewolf, a being that is actually half-beast in soul. Hell, some romances even involve interaction between the living and the dead, and no one ever found that "dog-fucking", not even "corpse-fucking".

So do me a favor, and stop comparing all aliens/mutants to animals; even if they are animalistic in appearance, if they are sentient beings, they are capable of romance with another species, including humans. Deal with it and shut up.
