Yes, blatant "Secret Saturdays" fanart. There's not enough decent fanart on this site. : P

As to explain this pic...Argost is, no doubt about it, my favorite character in the series. He's devious, a perfect gentleman, well-educated, strong, and notoriously clever--in other words, the perfect head villain. And me, stupid me, I just HAVE to wonder about their pasts, how they got that way, and what they are. I don't think Argost is an ordinary human...he has the physical traits of a vampire and the psychological traits of a Necromancer, at least in my eyes.

I was actually talking about this with my friend =jeklyn-hyde and she agreed, so this pic is for her more than it is anyone else. The Argost family as they appeared around thirty or forty years in the past--Argost's father, V.V. Argost Senior, on the left (vampire) and Argost's mother, Theodosia (Necromancer) on the right. The little tyke in the middle is Argost himself as a young kid, with his dog, a Black Shuck by the name of Inray.

I based Theodosia's design off of my idol Keith Thompson's character, Madame Theodosia, who is also a Necromancer.

For those of you who don't know, Black Shucks (also called "Old Shuck" in local legends) are phantasmic dogs that are said to be the incarnations of animals risen from Hell itself, or a jumbled mix of spirits of animals crushed under wheels or hooves. They appear in London streets at night to cause havoc and terrify local residents. Though there have been many sightings, they have only been spoken of in legend.
